Cute dress that I am loving for an upcoming formal event

Saw it again this weekend, and I was dying of laughter. Ryan Gosling was just a bonus to the amazing movie!

Cheers to the end of Daylight Savings, hot chocolate, cold weather, and the ever changing leaves!

18 Years Young

Source
Someone just became an adult... Me! I can hardly believe it, and I am so excited to take on the world! I have learned so much by all the wonderful people that surround me, but there are so many things in this world I have yet to do, but I can't wait to spend each and everyday trying new things and experiencing new people. In honor of my birthday here are nine things I have learned/done, and nine things I want to learn/do.

I have...
zip lined
learned the power of dedication and hard work
made lifelong friends
learned how to make omelets
went to Costa Rica to monitor Leatherback Turtles
learned that people don't usually remember what you did, but how you made them feel
made it to college (let's hope I can make it out)
learned that most people don't care about what you do, so don't be afraid to say or do what you feel is right
been truly happy and blessed with such a wonderful life.

I want to...
experience love
learn how far I can push myself
study abroad
learn as much as I can in college
be more involved in school life
learn how to say yes
see the good in everyday
learn how to give back to the world

I hope your Thursday is a amazing as mine is today!

xoxo,
Ana

Fall 2011 Commence

I love fall, there's nothing I don't like about it. I especially love seeing the slow transition from summer clothes to fall clothes. Kinda like seeing the leaves go from green to red.

Fall 2011

This fall I am hoping to wear...
a cape- this is like a way cooler  version of the poncho, cause you're wearing a cape (like batman, but fashionable).
argyle socks with my wellies. I live in a very rainy state so my boots will be in frequent rotation and these cute socks peeking out will be just the thing to make me stand out.
an infinity scarf. I've wanted one for quite sometime but haven't been able to actually get around to buying it. But it would be a definite staple in  my wardrobe.
fall dresses! I hardly ever wear dresses but my goal is to wear more dresses except that all my dresses are for spring/summer. So a fall/winter dress that I can wear with tights is a definite must.
a backpack. I've seen it everywhere, and people look especially cooler when they walk around with one/ it'll be easier to carry my books when I finally get my bike up here.
beanie- self explanatory.
these wedge booties make my shoe fetish heart beat twenty times faster. they would give a plain outfit some edge.

Gobble Gobble

Cupcakes for Thanksgiving
Every Thanksgiving my sister and I make a dessert this year we wanted to make turkey cupcakes. It is always a challenge for us to make, but we always make the best of it. This year we ran into a couple of problems: 1. we couldn't find the right ingredients (we went to two stores and couldn't find caramel jimmies, caramel frosting, and candy corn!) 2. the oven turned itself off- mid bake. 3. we made the cupcakes the night before, so when we put them into the refrigerator they got too moist, making it really difficult to frost the next day. Even with those set backs, they came out delicious. The cupcakes were pumpkin spice and we used chocolate frosting.

For some reason my camera won't let me import the pictures I had of the cupcakes assembled. They came out very good, but they were very temperamental to put together. My sister and I plan on making more recipes from the cookbook (mentioned here)

Five Things

Instead of my When I was Seventeen list, I am writing about the five things I am thankful for this year. Its important that we thank the people in our lives not just one day of the year, but everyday.

  1. My family: Mom, Dad, Sophia, and my dog Ricky
  2. Best friends: Justine and Nicole
  3. My education
  4. My health and the health of those around me
  5. My home

Happy November!

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of November is obviously Thanksgiving (then Harry Potter!)--> with pumpkin pie, stuffing, my annual dessert, family, and being thankful of all the blessings in my life. I have always hated dressing up, it may be the fact that my mom always made me wear such awful outfits during parties (see picture). But I love wearing a dress that can be dressed down and this dress is just perfect.

100 Percent UrbanOutfitters

Gifted BDG Sherpa Coat, Gifted Striped Crop Top, Black BDG Ankle Cigarette Jeans, Sandals
I usually like to follow the rule, "don't put all your eggs in one basket", translated to, don't give all your money to one store. But for me this is nearly impossible, since I heard of UrbanOutfitters in 2007, it is my go to store. My friends and I can't seem to get enough of it. Often we find ourselves thinking, "Oh my God, there better be an UrbanOutfitters near this college, or else..."  Alas, we cannot stop checking their website (more than once a day, or caught shopping online in class) or going to their stores (more than once a week).
