A Little Tune

I have a new lady crush. Her name is Duffy and her voice is absolutely intoxicating. I don't even know how to describe it: raspy, soulful. It's amazingly different from other singers. My current favorite song of hers is Syrup and Honey. It is the perfect song to unwind to after a long day of work, school, and gym time. Take a listen and fall in love with her voice....

Don’t you being wasting all your money
On syrup and honey

Because I’m sweet enough
Don’t you be using every minute
On making a living
Because we got our love

xoxo

sing a little song

Oh lets get rich and buy our parents homes in the south of France
Lets get rich and give everybody nice sweaters and teach them how to dance
Lets get rich and build a house on a mountain making everybody look like ants
From way up there, you and I, you and I

Charge Up {Music for Monday}

It's my first day of work today, which means I had to wake up early to do as opposed to sleeping in until 9, I have to actually do something today as opposed to making my plans as the day unfolds. C'est la vie. But a good thing about Mondays is that Pretty Little Liars is on and I can fulfill my daily amount of drama and live vicariously through the very mysterious plot lines!! As we all know Mondays can be a bit difficult but nothing improves your mood quite like music. So my song to keep me moving is the Arctic Monkeys 'Fluorescent Adolescence'. It's a pretty awesome song, which I am listening to right now (as  I write) and I can't stop smiling & tapping my foot.

Song of The Week {Senior Presentation}

Tomorrow is my Senior Project Presentation and I am tripping. I cannot for the life of me present in front of a crowd, especially a crowd that will be judging my presentation. I'm so nervous. Making the powerpoint I had to listen so much Kanye. Particularly Stronger, it just really makes me want to work and get stuff done. Ever had a song like that?

Song Of The Week

Motorcycles!! Woot- I finally rode one this week (part of my DEALL program) and it feels great. I feel like I'm learning something that I will actually be able to use, and whenever I do anything right I feel amazing. Tomorrow is the driving test, which if I pass I will be able to get my motorcycle license next week!! All of this in one short week of Motorcycle Safety. My dad and I were thinking that I would rent a vespa over the summer and drive it around! Wish me luck.

They keep replaying this song on the radio and I keep replaying it in my head so it only makes sense that I choose it for Song of The Week. E.T by Katy Perry (Feat. Kanye West)

Hope the week has been nice!

Song Of The Week: No School For 2 Weeks

After tomorrow I will be on vacation for two weeks!!! The first week however is part of DEALL (a program at my school) and I will be learning the ins and outs of motorcycles, in the hopes of getting my license and one day owning a red vespa! The next week will be spring break, and I will probably be looking at colleges in Vermont, Oregon, and Washington to make my final decision for my new school and temporary home. This week has been fun (spirit week wise) and really stressful (school wise), teachers realize that us seniors are getting a little lazy and therefore decided to pile on the work before we leave. Losers. With that in mind these are the two songs for song of the week.

Moment 4 Life (Feat. Drake) by Nicki Minaj: so much fun to rap along to and just soak in the warmth that the city has been getting these last few days!

Gold Digger (Feat. Jamie Foxx) by Kanye West: Ask my friends, I love Kanye's music. I just get so pumped up and just can work through anything with Kanye.

Song Of The Week

I saw the Cult's Supervideo of the song Go Outside with Emma Roberts & Dave Franco and I think I fell in love with the song. If I had heard it with out the video I may have just passed the song but the video made it so fun and alive. Emma looked beautiful and Dave was super cute. Take a look

Song Of The Week

I don't think there is one word to exactly describe my week, but maybe exhaustion does the trick. Even though I just had a one week vacation I feel unmotivated and lazy and tired. Blah blah blah... Sorry to dump that, it wasn't exactly a superb afternoon. In physics we had to listen to head nauseating music, which may have many negative effects on my hearing in years to come.

The song of the week is no doubt The Story Of The Impossible by Peter Von Poehl,  I heard it in the French film Heartbreaker, and I instantly bought it and had it playing while I slept. It is so smooth, nice, and calming, my muscles instantly relax hearing it. I think the video someone made to go along with this song is a perfect description of it in mind. Happy almost Friday!!

Song Of The Week

This was my last week before "ski week" and the rainy weather has been in full force. We even got some hail! I also went on a music shopping spree, so I've got tons of music to share. But my favorite song this week is: Lights by Ellie Goulding. It has been my go to when I was doing some boxing. Btw I am part of an iPad team at school, and this whole blog post was done on an iPad! I am slightly obsessed with it right now. Have a good Friday dolls.

Song of The Week: TGIF

No it is not officially Friday but who the hell is counting? Thursday night is basically Friday, and after the week I had TGIF!! Sometimes I think we all need a time out button or something. This weekend will be really nice and relaxing I am predicting.
The song of the week is Cobrastyle by Teddybears. I first heard this song on the show Chuck, which btw is beyond amazing (spies and geeks rolled into one) and then it came up on my Pandora playlist and I had to buy it. It is a really fun song, and it was very useful this morning when I needed to get up.

Song of The Week

It has gotten to that point in the year when you begin counting how many days are left of school, and for me it is also how many days until I graduate. Well there are 67 days of academic school and about an additional 24 days until I graduate!! If this week has taught me anything it is that each day we go on an emotional journey and the day can bring about anything: happiness, anger, sadness, frustration, confusion, complete satisfaction, love, disappointment, and everything else in between. The hardest part is how we deal with our emotions. When we are upset it is easy to want to blame everyone for our problems, but we have to try our hardest not to. And other times it is our responsibility to our loved ones that we remind them that the everything will be okay.

The Song of The Week is : Big Jet Plane by Angus and Julia Stone

Faves of the Week

It was a short school week to celebrate a day of giving thanks- I always feel nostalgic the day after a major holiday, its like I can never believe its over. But we have many more days, accomplishments, and people to celebrate this year. I for one cannot wait until all my college apps are over, I am planning on finishing my UC apps today! We also have the end of the first school semester, which will bring about a lot of sighs of relief. But today we can admire and congratulate the looks I loved this week! Happy Weekend!
In Spain
Beyonce & Blake
Miley in Marchesa at AMAs
These ladies looked lovely: always a Meester fan. At first I didn't like Blake's look, but it grew on me. Beyonce always looking good. I was deeply surprised that I picked Miley- I usually don't like her style, but this dress is beautiful.
song of the week: What's My Name? by Rihanna ft. Drake

A few seconds to spare

Winter

In the midst of all my studying I made a Christmas Playlist- I needed that extra spirit (I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet- oh well). I compiled some of my favorite songs- although because of my Nicaraguan roots, some of my songs are in spanish! Enjoy a little Holiday Cheer! More to come later!
