In English class we just finished Fight Scenes by Greg Bottoms. It has been a very interesting read, at times very masculine but with a stark contrast with light and poetic moments. I read the most beautiful line in the book that goes like this:
[ Thinking about his younger brother]
"I felt some quick surge like memory, like love, like an unbearable ache for a place to call home, in my throat, up behind my eyes. For a split second I couldn't see, couldn't swallow. Everything went black."
As I read it I felt the same unbearable ache.
